2018 AIChE Annual Meeting
Session: Plenary Session: Multifunctional Biomaterials Addressing Current Healthcare Challenges (Invited Talks)
The design of biomaterials is always linked to the challenge of microbial contamination. In effect, a biomaterial is a substrate conducive to the growth of mammalian cells, or the deposition the biological products that promote microbial colonization. This session focuses on techniques employed in clinical settings, which successfully promote the growth of mammalian cells during wound healing while minimizing the proliferation of microbial contaminants.
