With the rapid development of the economic society and industry, water pollution of heavy metal irons had become one of the most serious environmental problems facing the world. Conventional treatment technologies for the removal of these toxic heavy metals are not economical and further generate huge quantity of toxic chemical sludge. In recent years, cellulose due to its abundance, low cost and ease of operation, are increasingly used in heavy metal iron removal.

In my research, the effect of hydrolysis on the adsorption properties of cellulose was studied. We optimize the reaction conditions of cellulose hydrolysis and study the kinetics of the adsorption process. Hydrolysis of cellulose is further studied to improve the adsorption performance.
