The basic oxygen furnace(BOF)steelmaking is an important process of the iron and steel production. To ensure the quality of molten steel, the main task of this process is to remove impurities from molten iron by blowing oxygen. Continuous oxidation reactions of chemical components occur during the oxygen blowing process. This is a heat dissipation process which leads to the increase in the temperature of molten steel in the furnace. And it makes it is necessary to control the temperature of the molten in this process to meet production requirements and ensure production safety. Thus, in this paper, according to the history data, a black box operation optimization (BBOO) model with a box constraint is extracted to realize temperature control for the endpoint of BOF steelmaking. At the same time, in the model, we also take production materials saving into account. To solve the BBOO problem, we proposed a box constrained derivative free optimization algorithm. Finally, numerical experiments are performed.
