Session: Development of Sustainable New Materials and Intermediates
Sustainable process development for new materials emphasizes the implementation of materials used in sectors such as transportation, construction, packaging, textiles and protection the sustainable processes require the most efficient use of raw materials and energy, preferably from renewable sources or through biological techniques, and prevention of generation and release of toxic materials leading to environmental problems. The development of sustainable processes/products has been driven both through consumer demand that is gentle to the environment, and also through regulations, agreements and treaties among nations. In this session, authors are encouraged to submit work that highlight case studies of sustainable material development, examples of process developments recognized by society as sustainable, or been approved by governmental agencies as meeting set sustainable criteria.
