- (585ak) Jet Hydrodynamics in Needle-Free Injection
The liquid composition and physical properties is shown to have a significant effect on the jet speed and hence efficacy of the injection.
Using excised Guinea Pig skin as a substitute, we assess the applicability of jets for drug delivery into the dermis and "bleb" formation.
We find that the initial jet formation and jet characteristics are key to the success of the injection, thus indicating the need for fluid dynamics considerations in such drug delivery techniques.
