Large amount of sludge including oil is discharged at oil production sites and is disposed as industrial waste at a high cost. In this work, we studied on crude oil extraction method from sludge and a configuration of a low cost plant that recovered crude oil from sludge. We selected naphtha as extractant. Naphtha is component of crude oil included in sludge and dissolves crude oil in sludge. At distillation tower, component of vaporized naphtha from extractant is approximately equal to that from sludge. Therefore we confirmed that our crude oil extraction method using naphtha as extractant stabilize in comparison with other extraction methods.
