End group capped highly sulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone) (SPAES) was cross-linked by
thiol-ene click reaction with allyl polysulfone (APSf). The end group cross-linking effects such
as chemical and mechanical properties and proton conductivity of cross-linked SPAES (CSPAES)
membranes were investigated by changing the contents of polymeric cross-linker,
APSf. The C-SPAES membranes exhibited remarkably enhanced chemical and mechanical
properties compared with pristine SPAES. Moreover, while the proton conductivity of pristine
SPAES membrane couldnât be measured due to the low stability, C-SPAES membranes showed
high proton conductivities in various humidity condition (up to 190.6 mS/cm2 in 100 %RH).
