(400k) Particle Convection in Vibrating Bed

When particle transporting, the particle convection was observed in a bed caused by vibrating. The height of the bed in the vicinity of the center is larger than that of the periphery considerably. It is well known phenomenon as the particle convection. A simulation using DEM explains the phenomenon well.
Because the particle convection encourages the attrition, it is desirable to suppress when transporting. Suitable partition in the bed is discussed using DEM in this report.
