2016 AIChE Annual Meeting

Session: Advanced Energy Technologies: Biomass Conversion, Steam Reforming, Partial Oxidation, and Auto-Thermal Reforming

Biomass technologies break down solar energy stored in organic matter, such as plants. The chemical processing approach used for breaking down the organic matter depends on the type of biomass and the intended end-use. Relevant forms of biomass include organic matter such as plants, residue from the agricultural and forestry industries, and the organic component of municipal and industrial waste. All of these can be used to produce useful fuels, chemicals, and electric power. Papers on these and related topics are encouraged.
