(602b) Battery Storage – the New Renewable Force
Author
Cook, S. - Presenter, Cal Clean Earth
Battery storage for solar and wind is critical in providing sustainable renewable energy, consistently and reliably from it source to the intended user. The discussion will focus on R&D efforts being undertaken by Cal Clean Earth (CCE) in improving storage capacities and efficiency. Emphasis during the panel discussion will be placed on Lead Acid, Lithium Iron Phosphate and others. Additionally, we will look at productivity aspects of these systems, e.g. standalone against hybrids. For the success of these projects, funding is essential, thus will share approaches taken through Power Purchasing Agreements (PPA), Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) and also how rebates/offsets are processed through Self-Generation Incentive Programs (SGIP).
