Abstract:

In this work, for the reason of high fermentative temperature and low hydrogen productive activity resulted in the process of H2 production by photosynthetic bacteria, using photofermentative bacteria Rhodopseudomonas faecalis RLD-53 as objective bacteria, a thermotolerant strains R-9a was obtained through ultraviolet mutagenesis and high temperature domestication, and the hydrogen producing kinetic characterization of the thermotolerant strains was also investigated, the kinetic model of hydrogen production based on Gompertz equation was established. The result shows that the obtained thermotolerant strains R-9a through ultraviolet mutagenesis and high temperature domestication had high temperature resistant , can produce hydrogen stably at 38 â?? using glucose as substrate, the average biomass was 0.83 g/L , the average hydrogen production yield is 18.64 mL/L, the residual reducing sugar content is 1.65 g/L. The kinetic model shows that the obtained strainsâ?? hydrogen production lag time was 28.67 h, the maximum accumulative total production yield was 2245.73 mL/L, the maximum production rate was 38.41 mL/ Lâ?¢h. The obtained thermotolerant strains R-9a has good high temperature resistance and high hydrogen production efficiency, which was suitable for middle and high photofermentative hydrogen production.
