(329d) Self-Assembly Under Conditions Mimicking Deep-Sea Hydrothermal Vents

Deep-sea hydrothermal vents are hot spring occurring in the bottom of the ocean. Hot and compressed water, sometimes in the supercritical state (Tc = 374 ºC, Pc = 22.1 MPa), gushes out from the sea floor and rapidly cooled to near-freezing temperature by surrounding cold water. In this communication, self-assembly under such unique conditions and its possible implication for the origin of life will be discussed.
