Session: Synthetic Systems Biology
A mathematical understanding of how individual molecular components interact with one another in the context of an organism is a hallmark of systems biology. Synthetic biology involves the design and construction of systems of biological parts that exhibit logical and predictable dynamic behavior. At the intersection of the two, this session highlights the design and building of synthetic biological systems that leverage the interactions of various biological parts to create complex behavior. Conversely, this session also emphasizes the use synthetic biology techniques as tools to expand the systems-level understanding of organisms.
