2014 AIChE Annual Meeting
Session: Synthetic Biology Applications
Synthetic Biology is built on the concept of interchangeable parts that can be pieced together to facilitate devices and organisms with new functions. As the breadth and sophistication of the underlying biological parts or toolkit has expanded, so has the potential for ever more impactful applications. In this session, we will highlight these applications advanced by synthetic biology, including chemical synthesis, biomedical technology, and other creative avenues for which synthetic biology offers a unique solution to a relevant societal problem. Speakers from both academia and industry are encouraged to present in this session.
