2014 AIChE Annual Meeting

Session: Special Session: Festschrift for Professor Dimitri Gidaspow's 80th Birthday & Career Long Accomplishments I

Professor Gidaspow is a pioneer in the field of fluidization and development of the kinetic theory of granular flow in his two books "Multiphase Flow and Fluidization" and “Computational Techniques”. His influence is international. His models are incorporated into the commercial CFD computer code ANSYS FLUENT and the NETL supported open source code MFIX. The purpose of this session is to honor him on his 80th birthday by having former students and leaders in the field of multiphase flow and fluidization present invited papers.
