Session: Nanostructured Particles for Bio, Food and Pharma

Nanostructured particles and nanoparticles have started to find application in the food, biomedical and pharmaceutical sectors, typically either as carrier vehicle, as active ingredient or as diagnostic agent. Reports on the synthesis of such nanostructured particles, their characterization and/or performance are the focus of this session. Of special interest are strategies to control functionality during synthesis or post (surface-) modification of the nanostructured particles. Discussions on the toxicological aspects of their application are most welcome but not mandatory.
