2014 AIChE Annual Meeting

Session: Metabolic Engineering of Photosynthetic/Non-Model Organisms

Non-traditional hosts systems provide a diverse genetic background, which can serve as an advantageous production platform for a wide range of pharmaceuticals, biochemicals and biofuels. This session will focus on metabolic engineering efforts in a range of non-model organisms that include but are not limited to plants, fungi, algae, cyanobacteria, and archaea. Sample topic areas of interest include molecular tool development, metabolic flux analysis, construction and analysis of genome scale models, application of ‘omics’ techniques, and production of novel products through pathway engineering.
