Successfully scaling technology safely from the laboratory bench to the pilot plant and from the pilot plant to a commercial plant, either owned or contracted, requires attention to detail --- not just technical detail, but planning detail and support detail.

This presentation discusses the application of dimensional analysis and the concept of the rate limiting regime to scaling technology from the labortatory to the commercial plant. This presentation also discusses the lessons learned from thirty years of scaling technology.
