(260e) Membrane Reactor for Scalable Manufacturing of Nano-Material Products

Nano-sized solid particles with tailored properties are desired for a variety of applications from pharmaceutical, material, chemical, environmental to energy industry. However, synthesis of the nano-particles with design properties in a scalable and sustainable way has been a major challenge. In this presentation, the author will introduce membrane reactor technologies for continuous production of nano-particles through multiphase reactions.  The literature progress will be brief reviewed, including preparation of nano-particles for controlled drug delivery. The recent progress made by this research group for production of transition metal (Fe, Co, Ni) nano-particles will be reported.
