2013 AIChE Annual Meeting

Session: Protein Expression and Post-Translational Modifications I

This session will highlight advances in protein expression in a wide variety of platforms, including bacteria, yeast, insect, mammalian, and plant cells as well as cell-free expression systems. Contributions focusing on protein expression and modification in non-model cellular platforms are especially welcome, as are papers pertaining to spatially organized or scaffolded protein complexes. Moreover, we are particularly eager to receive contributions from industry. The session will focus on the engineering of expression hosts for improved protein expression as well as on the design of novel methods for protein display, and cell-cell communication. In addition to the focus on protein expression, the session will also include papers on the development of in vivo and in vitro techniques for improved post-translational modification of proteins, including folding, glycosylation, editing and secretion.
