- (4br) Sustainable Energy for the 21st Century and Beyond
Just over a decade into the 21st century and new millennium, it is becoming increasingly evident that energy security and climate change are two of the most defining challenges of our time and generations to come. Unfortunately, there is no silver bullet and we need to nurture range of technologies to address these challenges. To accomplish this, motivated by my own diverse research experiences, several clean and green technologies need to be developed further. These include:
.
Together, all these technologies have the potential to alleviate both the energy security and climate change concerns. This presentation will discuss effective use of various Systems Engineering tools (including process modeling, design, control, optimization and dynamic simulation) to foster scientific innovation and facilitate the acceleration of commercial development and deployment of these clean and green energy technologies. Special emphasis will be on large-scale real world energy systems.
