(37d) Pan American Issues on Biofuel Sustainability

Biofuels are in rapid development in many Pan American countries, yet the nature and extent of impacts on social and environmental systems from large-scale biofuel development are not well understood.  This talk will explore sustainability issues across a broad set of impacts and in different Pan American countries and will begin to outline important research gaps.  A future research agenda to overcome these knowledge gaps would help establish a new and growing biofuels industry onto a sustainable path.
