(600am) Develop High Density SCR Catalyst for Marine Diesel Engine
Authors
Nitrogen oxides (NOx) are inorganic gas which is produced during the combustion process, especially at high temperature. Also nitrogen oxides are air pollution gases which induce the formation of acid rain.
Recently, IMO approved emission regulation to reduce NOx emission from marine diesel engine, which has become more stringent over the last several years. So all diesel engine manufactures are currently confronted with the global issue of reducing NOx emissions. Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) of NOx reduction is considered as one of the leading candidates for meeting of IMO regulations. It can achieve the high efficiency of NOx reduction.
HHI developed the SCR system for marine diesel engine. But the installation of SCR system in the limited space of engine room is difficult due to the large volume of the conventional SCR catalyst, so we developed the SCR catalyst of high cell density and it showed a NOx reduction performance of more than 90% and volume reduction of 50% compared to the conventional catalyst.
