(387a) Progress of Purification of Industrial Exhaust Gas Using Novel High Gravity Technology

Recently, industrial emissions of acid gas pollutions, such as carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides, increase gradually with the global economy development, which causes the environmental deterioration of our world. Hence, investigation on new exhaust gas purification technology attracts much attention from industrial and academic circles. Here we show the research progress of our group on removal of carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides from industrial emissions and resourceful utilization of them. The theoretical principles and the typical large-scale industrial application instances are emphatically introduced. For example, the industrial desulfurization plant with the capacity to treat 80000 Nm3/h exhaust gas is built for sulfuric acid factory. The sulfur dioxide content in the exhaust gas decreases dramatically from 4000-5000 to 200 mg/m3. An industrial trial plant with the capacity to treat 18000 Nm3/h flue gas (30000 ton per year) has been built to capture carbon dioxide from the flue gas and the captured carbon dioxide is used for tertiary oil recovery. Our achievements by 20 years’ research show that high gravity technology exhibits broad prospect for industrial applications on removal and capture acid gas pollutions from industrial emissions. High gravity technology could provide technical support for energy conservation and emission reduction.
