In order to detect glucose molecules, natural proteins including lectins and glucose oxidase were once utilized. However, denaturation problems with these proteins must be taken into consideration in those systems. At the same time, Boric acid (BA) group was discovered in order to obviate protein instability problem because it can selectively form complex with diol group on glucose molecules. So far, researchers prefer to copolymerize BA contained monomers with amino contained monomers in order to enable BA group to work in physical PH value. However, it is foreseeable that, due to existence of abundant amino, that copolymer is easy to non-specifically absorb proteins, which can deactivate the device in short time. As a result, actual application of this device is rather limited. To our best knowledge, one multi-functionalized device which integrates continuous glucose-detection, real time overdose feedback response and non-fouling capabilities into together is not reported, but highly desirable. Therefore, in our paper, we prefer to synthesize BA group contained zwitterionic molecule in order to realize them at the same time.
