This work describes the strength of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) nanocomposite chars at high temperature using Dynamic Mechanical Analysis. Different compositions of PU nanocomposites were prepared using a Montmorillonite organo-clay, carbon nano fiber and multiwall carbon nanotubes. The materials were compounded by twin screw extrusion. The rheological and mechanical properties of different PU nanocomposite chars at temperatures up to 600oC have been correlated with their fire retardance properties, including UL-94 and dynamic TGA.
