Microfluidics allows effective studies on the whipping mechanism of an electrospinning jet due to the viscous forces from the external co-flowing liquid. Here we present a systematic study on the whipping mechanism in terms of its growth rate and its dependence on the operating parameters such as applied voltage and injection rates.
