(255a) Process Intensification: A Historical Perspective
Author
Kenat, T. A. - Presenter, KenaTech Process Engineering
While the term “Process Intensification” is fairly new, the concept has been around for the last few decades. Whenever processes are combined in unique or creative ways to increase yields, reduce equipment or operating costs, save energy, reduce undesirable byproducts, or gain other benefits, it could be called process intensification. In this presentation, the author will draw on both the published literature some of his own unpublished research to show a few examples (some successful, some not so successful) that could have been called Process Intensification if the term had been around then.
