Session: Chemistry, Thermodynamics and Multiphase Flow of Complex Fluids Related to Flow Assurance II

Keeping crude oil pipelines flowing is of economic and strategic importance. Oil is being produced from increasingly deep prospects off-shore. Three-phase flow containing oils, gas and water is the norm. It is not uncommon to see precipitation of waxes, asphaltenes and emulsion and hydrate formation. In this session, we will address fundamental characterization and properties of oils, emulsions, hydrates, and other complex fluids.
