(396b) Continuous Improvement of ABET

In June 2009, Dr. Michael K.J. Milligan became the Executive Director of ABET. In addition to his leadership experience, he has five years of experience as an ABET program evaluator and has led the accreditation process at his former institution. Dr. Milligan brings multiple perspectives to the leadership of ABET, and in the first few months, he has reached out to multiple constituents and continues those conversations as part of his ongoing strategic activities. In his discussion with the chemical engineering department heads, Dr. Milligan will share what he has learned from his conversations with ABET constituents and the priorities that he has established to address concerns about ABET processes. Among the topics to be discussed are: continued training of ABET volunteers, expanding communication channels with ABET programs, ABET's role in promoting innovation of technological education, and ABET's vision for international accreditation.
