Many innovators concentrate on demonstrating the capabilities of their innovation and then forming a company to market and sell it. Too often they overlook alliances and licensing options. This talk focuses on the basic reasons for adopting a licensing strategy, some of the tools that can be used to compare licensing vs. venture financing, and provides an example applicable to the chemical industry.
