An overview of the assessment process used in the Chemical and Biological Engineering Department at the University of Maine will begin with a discussion of how the department developed Program Outcomes in relation to the ABET 3a-k criteria. Then, the unique features of the assessment process will be discussed which include: Online Faculty Course Assessment Reports, targeted input from the Industrial Advisory Board, feedback from coop and intern mentors and a database for tracking program changes. Finally, a few examples will be presented which illustrate how the assessment results have been integrated and used to close the assessment loop.
