In this talk I will describe my recollections and experiences as a graduate student in Roger's group. This was truly the most profound experience in my whole professional life, the lessons learned having followed me in my own career as an academic, researcher and a teacher. Roger, as the title of my talk indicates, was truly the ?Ultimate Research Advisor? a true scholar, a great teacher, and a friend.
