(150a) INVITED: Self-Assembling Polymeric Templates for Biomineralization

This talk deals with the synthesis of hierarchically self-assembling block copolymers and their use as templates for biomineralization. The talk focuses on two different biomineralization schemes- injectable calcium phosphate nanocomposites for orthopedic applications, and polymer-magnetic nanoparticle systems based on mineralization proteins from magnetotactic bacteria.
