- (613c) Hydrogen Production Plant with Urea Co-Production
In this work we present a hydrogen production process in which hydrogen and urea are generated, instead of the conventional hydrogen and carbon dioxide. The feed to the steam methane reformer (SMR) consists of water and natural gas mixed simultaneously in the appropriate ratio. The outlet of the SMR consists of synthesis gases which are used in the production of urea. In order to address and fulfill the energy requirements of the entire plant, heat and power integration techniques are applied into the process allowing us to maintain a self-powered process plant, reducing the carbon emissions to near zero and being economically feasible.
