(501f) Cell Focusing in a Serpentine Microchannel with Insulative Dielectrophoresis

We present the electrokinetic focusing of yeast cells in a serpentine microchannel using DC-biased AC electric fields. This focusing results from the cross-stream dielectrophoretic motion of cells induced within the channel turns. The effects of electric field, buffer concentration, and cell concentration etc. on the focusing performance are examined.
