(400c) Impact of New GHG Legislation On Regional and International GHG Cap and Trade Programs

Author

Part of a moderated discussion, this presentation will summarize the impact of potential new energy and climate change legislation on implementation of regional and international GHG cap and trade programs. The author will compare the several significant U.S. regional GHG cap and trade programs and discuss how participants in each program will be, or may be, required to manage GHG reductions and allocations undertaken, completed, verified and reported pursuant to preexisting regional programs in the context of future GHG federal legislation. The author will also compare and contrast international GHG cap and trade programs. This moderated discussion will be helpful for those interested in identifying opportunities for research as well as those needing to prepare for regulatory implementation.
