- (335c) Liquid Droplet Measurements Using a Laser Scattering Technique
The knowledge of the droplet size distribution before and after the mesh pad is of high relevance due to the fact that this information is a way to evaluate the performance and efficiency of the separation equipment.
In this work it was used a light scattering technique of a laser in order to measure droplet size distribution of air-liquid system. Distilled water, regular sink water, glycerol, acetone and ethanol have been tested. Their results have been compared and a tendency correlation has been obtained.
It was found that the technique was accurate and its accuracy was checked with an optical/visual technique of high speed cameras' measurements.
