(318c) Supercritical Fluid Aided Synthesis of Nanostructured Catalyst

Author

Sunol, A. - Presenter, University of South Florida

This presentation deals with synthesis of aerogel catalysts where the support is prepared using templates and sol-gel method followed with supercritical drying. The aerogel support is subsequently impregnated/doped with nano size metal/metaloxide particles using supercritical fluid carriers. The support is titanium dioxide while a portfolio of particles, including Iron and Tungsten, were incorporated. The catalyst activity for phenol degradation and detailed characterization using XPS, BET, Pore size distribution, FTIR, SEM, EDS, and TEM was performed.
