(172g) Computational Fluid Dynamics in Chemical Engineering Education

As computational fluid dynamics (CFD) has gained acceptance as an industrial tool for the chemical process industries, there has been an increasing demand from industry for B.S. chemical engineers with some formal training in using CFD software. The CACHE CFD Task Force is a coalition of academic and industrial CFD researchers and practitioners whose aim is to assist in building the infrastructure necessary to insure that these CFD teaching modules become standard practice in the U.S. chemical engineering undergraduate curriculum. This presentation provides an assessment of the deployment of CFD for chemical engineering education.
