(155d) An Investigation Into "Just Draw-Down" Conditions for Immiscible Liquid Systems

Author

The "Just draw-down" condition is the minimum impeller speed required to ensure that a floating immiscible liquid later (in, for example, a liquid-liquid extraction process) is completely disturbed. Data obtained in a variety of stirred vessel geometries at a range of scales is presented, and performance prediction correlations are compared with those in the literature.
