2008 Annual Meeting
Session: New Developments In PM and the Environment I
Sources of atmospheric particulate matter (PM) are coming under increasing regulatory scrutiny both in the U.S. and abroad due to studies linking ambient PM to adverse heath effects. Many critical questions remain unanswered, such as how particle composition, size, and morphology affect toxicity. This session is concerned with sources, characterization, and atmospheric transformations of particulate matter and how these may be related to toxicological effects. Recent results from interdisciplinary research teams are especially welcome.
