CaSiO3 was prepared through solid chemical reaction of CaCO3 and SiO2 at 800°C and investigated as a CO2 sorbent via X-ray diffractometry (XRD) and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) techniques. The results reveal that CaSiO3 commences to absorb CO2 at 400°C and ends the absorption at 800°C with about 28.72% CO2 sorption efficiency while using 15% CO2, 85% N2 as flow gases. About ten cycles of CO2 sorption-desorption behaviors were observed. It was also found that CaSiO3 could be regenerated by calcination at 800°C within 10 hours.
