Author
Jeffrey J. Siirola - Presenter, Eastman Chemical Company
Every engineering curriculum requires a culminating capstone design experience. As the chemical engineering discipline evolves, what aspects of design should be taught? Formulation, synthesis, analysis, evaluation, optimization? Process or product? Batch or continuous? Device or specialty or commodity? Chemical or biological or electronic? Creative or routine? At what scale? Involving what tools? This presentation will outline some basics and innovations that may help students better meet future industrial chemical engineering design challenges.
