(450d) Poet's Vision for the Future of Biorefining

The Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 was signed into law on December 19, 2007. Included in this act was an amendment to the Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS) that makes provision for 36 billion gallons of renewable fuel by 2022, 16 billion gallons of which are specified to be cellulosic biofuel. As the largest ethanol producer in the United States and in the world POET is committed to meeting these ambitious targets.

This presentation will discuss POET's strategies towards meeting the goals of the RFS, including both improved starch to ethanol and biomass to ethanol. Additionally, POET's vision of an integrated biorefinery that moves beyond liquid fuel production will also be presented.
