The lubrication approximation is invoked to model the sliding behavior of a drop of non-Newtonian liquid on a substrate with finite contact angle. Three dimensional

time-dependent simulations demonstrate

that, if the liquid is shear thinning, the tendency of the liquid stream to break up into small droplets is diminished.
