The particle size, polydispersity and binder viscosity are properties very important in the industry of pharmaceutical tablet manufacturing. Polydispersity affects the rearrangement of particles and it could lead to different compaction characteristics of powders that formed tablets. The aim of this work was analyze the effect of particle size, polydispersity, compaction pressure and binder properties on the dissolution time, hardness and friability of tablets manufactures by both direct compression and wet granulation. UV spectroscopy was used to determine the dissolution time of active ingredient. The dissolution time of tablets decreases with increasing binder viscosity. The friability test approved the FDA standards, with lost in mass smaller than 1%. The polydispersity and particle size will be studied to understand the effect on the dissolution time of tablets.
