(464b) Commercializing Nanostructured Carbon at Nano-C, Inc
Author
Vejins, V. - Presenter, Nano-C, Inc.
A critical subset of the nanotechnology markets are based on nanostructured carbon materials including fullerenes and single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNT). Significant applications are found in alternative forms of energy (photovoltaics, fuel cells, batteries, and ultra-capacitors), health care (therapeutics, anti-oxidants), environmental needs (air and water purification), materials efficiency (high strength composites, durable transparent conductors) and national security (chemical sensors). In other words, these new materials enable applications that address a number of the fundamental forces that currently shape our world. This talk will highlight the challenges and opportunities that have faced Nano-C in taking these materials from being scientific curiosities to making their way into meaningful commercial products.
