Author
Lehrenbaum, W. U. - Presenter, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP
EPA is in the very early stages of developing and implementing a regulatory strategy to address the unique environmental risks that may be associated with nanoscale materials. In many respects, the challenges EPA will face in regulating this technology will be similar to the challenges the Agency faced when it first set out to regulate products of biotechnology.
In this discussion, the presenter will examine the basic steps EPA has taken to date toward the regulation nanoscale materials. The presenter will also look at how EPA's regulation of nanoscale materials may generally evolve in the near term, using the Agency's approach to biotechnology regulation as a model.
