2006 AIChE Annual Meeting

Session: Tissue Engineering: Stem Cells in Tissue Engineering (I)

Cell-based therapies rely on the understanding and application of stem cell biology in order to improve in vitro tissue development of in vivo tissue regeneration. Engineering principles that will allow the expansion or practical development of stem cell biology are critical to implement the potential clinical benefits of stem cells. This session will include research that enhances our understanding of stem cell processes such as proliferation and differentiation as well as applications of these to cell delivery and tissue engineering.
